Our Lincoln Zephyrs are in the Spotlight!

Our Lincoln Zephyrs are in the Spotlight!

Attention Lincoln Fans! You must see these beautiful Lincoln Zephyrs spotlighted in their own special display! The flowing curves of the maroon 1937 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe was the inspiration of Edsel Ford, Henry's son, and head designer, Bob Gregorie, teaming up to bring art deco flair to the Ford Motor Company. This design would boost Ford's sales to outsell all the competition that year, something that would not happen again until the 1950's. This coupe was incredibly popular because of its teardrop back and luxurious interior. The details are never ending! This one is worthy of a 15-20 minute close inspection!

The glamorous black 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Continental Cabriolet was voted most beautiful car in the world when it debuted, and there are many photos of Hollywood movie stars with their own twin to this stylish automobile. This particular car has badges on the grill as proof of entry in quite a few international car shows!

Along the back wall you will see a gallery of beautiful original black and white photos from the Ford Motor Company's Design and Engineering Department during the years of Bob Gregorie's reign! Some show Lincoln prototypes; some show how the models were developed and other processes the department used to finally get to the sleek and powerful automobiles that would be shipped to showrooms all over the country.

Sunday, June 17, plan on attending a special Sunday Talk with David Sprowl, as he walks you through the behind-the-scenes goings on in the design department with Bob Gregorie and Edsel Ford! This event is free with admission and starts at 1:00. You will have time afterwards to see the Cruise-in in the parking lot! Plan on touring the museum earlier, when it opens at 11:00.

Featuring museum branded apparel, automobilia, books, automotive literature, archives, and much more!
