Attention Lincoln Fans! You must see these beautiful Lincoln Zephyrs spotlighted in their own special display! The flowing curves of the maroon 1937 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe was the inspiration of Edsel Ford, Henry's son, and head designer, Bob Gregorie, teaming up to bring art deco flair to the Ford Motor Company. This design would boost Ford's sales to outsell all the competition that year, something that would not happen again until the 1950's. This coupe was incredibly popular because of its teardrop back and luxurious interior. The details are never ending! This one is worthy of a 15-20 minute close inspection!

The glamorous black 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Continental Cabriolet was voted most beautiful car in the world when it debuted, and there are many photos of Hollywood movie stars with their own twin to this stylish automobile. This particular car has badges on the grill as proof of entry in quite a few international car shows!

Along the back wall you will see a gallery of beautiful original black and white photos from the Ford Motor Company's Design and Engineering Department during the years of Bob Gregorie's reign! Some show Lincoln prototypes; some show how the models were developed and other processes the department used to finally get to the sleek and powerful automobiles that would be shipped to showrooms all over the country.

Sunday, June 17, plan on attending a special Sunday Talk with David Sprowl, as he walks you through the behind-the-scenes goings on in the design department with Bob Gregorie and Edsel Ford! This event is free with admission and starts at 1:00. You will have time afterwards to see the Cruise-in in the parking lot! Plan on touring the museum earlier, when it opens at 11:00.

Lot's Going on Sunday, June 17! Car Show, Sunday Talk and Volunteer Information Meeting!

Sunday June 17 is the day to be at the Early Ford V-8 Museum!

Tour the beautiful museum at 11:00 and admire the Fords, Mercurys, Lincolns, Tractors and Commercial Trucks!

Then come in the library at noon and learn all about the volunteer opportunities here on our campus.

At 1:00 sit in on the Sunday Talk with David Sprowl, and learn more about Ford Motor Company's designers and the Lincoln Zephyr story!

Then on your way out, Enjoy the car Cruise-in in the parking lot for free! Hot dogs, pop and chips for total of $3 in J. Windle Event Center! Great time to check out the event center for YOUR future events!

There are many ways to be a volunteer at the museum!

One way is to be a docent - a fancy word for "tour guide", some might say. If you enjoy meeting new people from around the country and the world and have an interest in the classic Fords from 1932-1953, give this idea some time to brew. You do not need to be an expert on Henry Ford or the automobiles to be a docent. We will give you the tools you need to feel confident in sharing information and elevating the experience of our guests.

Other ways to volunteer include utilizing skills and experiences you already have! Perhaps you are good at organizing, or creative with displays, or good at cleaning. Perhaps you enjoy setting up for events and are willing to assist taking down events. Perhaps you are great at making documents or flyers. We also need help addressing envelopes, stamping them, and getting them to the post office! Do you enjoy keeping up landscaping? There are always weeds to pull and trimming to do. Whatever you enjoy doing, there is likely a way to incorporate it into a volunteer position.

There is no minimum time required. You volunteer when you want! It's a great way to meet new people and make new friends in a beautiful and calm environment.

If you are interested in learning more, please plan to attend our Introduction Meeting/Coffee on Sunday June 17 at noon in the museum library. You will meet Scott Campbell, one of our board members, and Jan Jones, our marketing and events manager.

You do not have to RSVP, but if you know you would like to come, you can let Jan know at jan@fordv8foundation.org or call the office at 260-927-8022.

We welcome you and hope to see you there!
